Charolette McKinney started painting china in 1973 when she was living in Oklahoma City, OK. For a while she worked at a china shop where she became very familiar with china, supplies, equipment and kilns. Recently it came to her attention and there was not an outlet for people to sell excess china to anyone other than painters in their own town. If a painter died or could not longer paint what were they supposed to do with their excess china and supplies?
All of the items you see on this site are on consignment from china painters or their families. Our goal is to market them to people like you in the hopes you have the opportunity to find a unique piece and they aren't forced to sell at estate sale prices.
In the past we tried e-mailing a catalog to china painters nationwide. However, the catalog became so big it required sending more than one e-mail to send the entire catalog. Moving our operation to the internet has provided an ecommerce opportunity that is more efficient for us and more accessable for you. We now have the capability for you to purchase china and/or painting supplies directly from the web. This was not available through our old catalog system.
China Painters Resale is around for three years and is just now creating a web presence.
